Young Nursing Alumna Cares for India’s Rural Poor
Sierra Ruth Freeman, a December 2014 baccalaureate nursing graduate, gives up her summer breaks for work that is anything but a break. She travels to India with limited funding and few guarantees of a safety net. Driven by her passion for improving global health, she works tirelessly to in a remote village to care for infants, adolescents and adults, many of whom are HIV-positive and have little access to healthcare. Now the new alumna balances her fifth trip to India with the NCLEX exam, the national licensure exam that will give her credentials as a Registered Nurse. Read Sierra’s complete story .
