Biography

Clinical Expertise
As a nurse, I have extensive experience in Critical Care. As an Informatics Nurse Specialist, I am certified as a Professional in Health Information and Management Systems, and have worked in North America, both the US and Canada, as well as Germany providing Consulting services and Informatics expertise in the clinical arena. I have contracted to multiple organizations both large and small, providing leadership and consulting services to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Health Information Systems and Electronic Records. I am an expert in HIPAA, Meaningful Use and the HITECH act for Healthcare Information Systems.

Research Interests
Research for my doctoral degree consists of epigenetics and polymorphic contributors to Colorectal Cancer. I hope, in the future, to study appropriate and effective methods for incorporating epigenetic/genomic data from patients into their personal HER, providing clinicians instant information regarding health risks related to the patient’s genetic information.
